Do neighbors stick together in the case of the Sand Hill Road crowd?
This week, yes. Menlo Park’s VC Row is looking more chummy than ever.
In the past five days, VCs with offices on the exclusive Sand Hill Road joined together to pour nearly $300 million into 25 startups, from open-source engine Docker to small business supply platform Kinnek.
Trinity Ventures, who hit for the cycle with investments ranging from seed to Series C, called on its neighbors to pitch in on three out of five funding rounds this week.
Trinity colluded with Sand Hill locals August Capital to back RJ Metrics, Canvas Venture Fund in CrowdFlower’s Series C, and both Sequoia and Greylock in Docker’s $40 million Series C.
This seems to be a trend among Silicon Valley’s finest – Sand Hill residents Sequoia, a16z, and Greylock have all chosen each other, among other neighbors, as preferred co-investors.
